Itinerary:
When you arrive in Huaraz, our staff will be waiting for you at the bus terminal to transfer you to the hotel, booked by us. After that you will be presented to "Enrique Expedition Tours" and your trekking guide will inform you about the last details of our expedition of the trekking Cedros Alpamayo – Santa Cruz – C1 Alpamayo in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru.
1st day.- Huaraz – Caraz – Hualcallán (3140 m).
Pick up at the hotel and departure to the north of Huaraz towards the city of Caraz. We will drive further to the village of Hualcallán, where we will find the pre-Inca archaeological remains. There we will visit some chullpas (stone tombs) of the same name, which served to bury the dead. This village gives us the opportunity of a good acclimatization and also to share local customs with the settlers.
2nd day.- Hualcallán (3,140 m.s.n.m) – Wishcash (4040 m).
We will start the day on a zig-zag path up with an increasingly impressive view of different colored hills and the Santa river in front. This night we will stay in Wishcash, which means in Quechua “Vizcacha”, place with a stunning sunset.
3rd day.- Wishcash (4040 m) – Osorurish (4600 m).
We will leave very early to see the lakes of Yanacocha and Chaquicocha. Afterwards we will arrive at lake Cullicocha with the impressive Mount Santa Cruz (6259 m) in its background. Continuing the way we will reach Osorurish pass (4850 m), where we will have a view of Mount Milluacocha (5480 m) and part of the valley of Cedros with pre-Inca terraces. We will stay the night Osorurish.
4th day.- Osorurish (4600 m) – Jancarurish (4250 m).
After crossing the pass of Alpamayo (4750 m), we will descend to the village of Alpamayo, a place where we will meet yards and homes of pre-Incas.
After a break we will continue the way up to Jancarurish, where we can enjoy the views of Mount Jancarurish (5601 m) and Alpamayo (5947 m).
5th day.- Jancarurish (4250 m) – Huillca (4000 m).
After we will leave the Alpamayo valley and cross the pass of Cara Cara (4850 m), we will get to the Callejón de Conchucos (Alley of Conchucos), with a panoramic view of the mountains Tayapampa (5675 m), Pilanco (5300 m) and North Pucajirca (6046 m). While descending we will see the lakes of Safuna (4247
m) and continue the way through the valley Tayapampa to the camp of Huillca.
6th day.- Huillca (4000 m) – Yeguacorral (3600 m).
This day we will cross the pass Coyota (4360 m) to see the lakes Grampayoc and Millpo. Afterwards we will pass Ventanilla (4250 m) until we reach at Yeguacorral, where we will spend the night.
7th day.- Yeguacorral ( 3600 m) – Quisuar (3800 m).
Early in the morning we will take the valley Jancapampa to arrive the hamlet of Pishgopampa and ascend to the pass of Tupatupa (4360 m) with its view of Mount Taulliraju (5830 m). We will continue along the valley of Tuctubamba until camp Quisuar.
8th day.- Quisuar (3800 m) – Huishcash (4200 m).
After breakfast we will depart to climb the high of Pucaraju pass (4640 m). From this point we will have an excellent view of the valley Huaripampa and the mountains Taulliraju and Pucaraju (5025 m). Overnight we will stay in camp Huishcash.
9th day.- Huishcash (4200 m) – Taullipampa (4200 m).
This day will reach 4750 meters in the Punta Union pass. From this place we will have a breathtaking view of the valley Santa Cruz and the lakes Jatuncocha and Taullicocha, across we can see Mount Taulliraju, Rinrijirca (5810 m), Artesonraju (6025 m) and Paria (5600 m). We will pass by the camp Taullipampa at 4200 m to go to the valley Arhuaycocha. After walking 1 hour we will arrive at the base camp of Alpamayo, where we will set up our camp.
Note: This afternoon our porters will arrive and bring the technical materials of climbing to go up to C1 Alpamayo the following day.
10th day.- Alpamayo Base Camp (4600m) – Morrena – Alpamayo Col (5300m).
This day our porters will be responsible for transporting our technical climbing gear, food and camping equipment. We will leave the base camp and start going up the moraine. On our way we will pass very rocky places and trails accompanied by polished granite rocks. After passing them we will get to enter the glacier by the easy ramps. After skirting some cracks we will find ourselves under the well-known hill and start climbing slowly up to the final slopes (60º - 65º). After climbing over this hill we will go down a few meters more and be located at C1 Alpamayo. (Camp 1- 5300 m).
11th day.- C1 Alpamayo (4600m) – Alpamayo Base Camp (5300m) – Llamacorral.
This day we will return together with our guide and porters to Alpamayo base camp. There our donkey driver will load our luggages and technical staff on his donkeys. We will leave the base camp heading back to the valley of Santa Cruz, passing the both lakes Jatuncocha and Icchicocha to reach Camp Llamacorral.
12th day.- Llamacorral (3800 m) – Cashapampa (2900 m).
This last day we descend along the left margin of the valley Santa Cruz, next to a clean river, surrounded by vegetation and breathtaking mountains. After arriving in Cashapampa, we will take the transport back to Caraz.

- Dear customers, we recommend making a reservation in advance, so that the price is more economical.
- This advance reservation is carried out 6 months before your arrival date to Huaraz.
